KEY FEATURES OF THE CURRICULUM AND ASSESSMENT MODELS

  • Available at standard (SL) and higher levels (HL)
  • Students are assessed both externally and internally
  • Students at SL and HL undertake a common core syllabus and a common internal assessment (IA) scheme.
  • While there are core skills and activities common to both SL and HL, students at HL are required to study some topics in greater depth, to study additional topics and to study extension material of a more demanding nature in the options.
  • A practical approach to the course delivery is emphasized through the interdisciplinary group 4 project and a mixture of both short-term and long-term experiments and investigations.
  • Student work is internally assessed by the teacher and externally moderated by the IB.

MEDICAL STUDIES
Upon finishing medical college one can choose to work in hospitals, science institutes, public health care or be part of the medical segment of some other science.

Research is directly connected with critical and independent thinking, creativity and most importantly, discovery. Essentially, all knowledge in every academic discipline came from some sort of research.

The life sciences comprise the fields of science that involve the scientific study of living organisms – such as microorganisms, plants, animals, and human beings – as well as related considerations like bioethics. While biology remains the centerpiece of the life sciences, technological advances in molecular biology and biotechnology have led to a burgeoning of specializations and interdisciplinary fields. The life sciences are helpful in improving the quality and standard of life. They have applications in health, agriculture, medicine, and the pharmaceutical and food science industries.

The pharmacy practice includes roles such as compounding and dispensing medications, and it also includes more modern services related to health care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information.
